potty training

Since Heath and I are both so afraid of potty training we've really taken a low-key approach in which we pretty much are just gonna let Attalie decide when she's ready to use the potty. Some people might think we're silly for being so much less then hands on, but I'd much rather change a dirty diaper then have to deal with the ickiness of an "accident" in big-girl pants.

So we had a little child-size adapter seat that we were putting on the big potty for Attalie to use. We've had this little seat for probably almost a year now. At first Atty thought it was neat to LOOK at, but she pretty much refused to sit on it. About 4 months ago she decided she'd start sitting on it, but nothing ever "happened." Then one day she actually "went" so we made a really big deal about it (which she loved). Then she started "going" more often, but only when she already had her diaper off, like getting ready for a bath or something. Now she loves to sit on the potty and does so just about every time we take her diaper off. She's even started to tell us when she needs to go, although sometimes her "warning" is a little late.

My mom suggested we get a small potty chair so that it would be easier for her (even with the tiny potty seat adapter thingy she is still too short to get up on the big potty). Grandma was right... Attalie LOVES her potty chair. Here are some pics of one of Atty's latest successes with her new potty chair:
